I finally got my Drawing gallery up and running afer 10 months since this site came up. I have been trying to find a way to display the gallery and make easy to update. Thanks to Frank Truscott in Nucleus Support Forum, he pointed me to the direction of a nice plugin for nucleus, BlogKolom. He even took time to help modify the script to suit my needs. Cheers Frank!
I did some changes to the site too. The scale models section had been changed from MODELS to HOBBY. The MODELS section now houses the gallery for 3D models. There is only one entry inside, my good ole Mini Cooper, but I hope I can put in more entries soon.
The guesbook had been removed due to spam. And I think guestbooks are no longer a trend in webbies these days. Not like alot of people sign it either ._.
I added the REEL and RESUME section for my demoreel and resume if I ever make one. Of course I should make one. But yeah, if I ever...
I might take some time to change the ABOUT section. The contents are too....irrelevant. I dunno man, maybe this site is going commercial :P. But I wanna put something more like contacts and relevant to art, something my future employers might wanna see if they ever come across this page.
That's all for now. Hey its still a major update ain't it?
I finally finished texturing the environment. I wanted to do really detailed in the beginning but time was against us. Moreover the scene is very dark so I decided to make do with basic textures.
Here is the mesh with colors:
Here is a render with a light in the middle to replicate the feel of the film. Mental ray in maya.
The character textures are mostly done but I will spend some time to really beef them up. Will post soon.
I have been spending some time during the weekend to scan in all my portrait drawings. Unfortunately, due to crumpling of the papers, the scans turn out pretty bad. I had to fork out time to restore the portraits one by one in photoshop. Quite a pain in the ass.
Here is an example of the restoration.
Unfortunately, not all can be restored. Some are crumpled so badly that editing in photoshop can't help much. In fact, it will erase of alot of details.
This happens to be one of my favorite piece. :(
There were alot of hair details now lost among the crumples.
Looks like I gotta think of other ways
Some drawings were drawn on thicker and rougher paper. Especially the A2 and color ones. They did not crumpled and thus saved from the miserable fate.
My back muscle is aching is hell. I kinda over-exerted them in the gym on Saturday. I will just stick to threadmill next time.
Walls. Done on Saturday morning. Woke up, daze abit, work on it and decided I should go back to sleep.
Ball. Done before the class. Kinda like the result. Spot the obvious mistake :(
Pillars. Done before the class. Too soft.
One of my classmate said that my drawings are all soft and "dreamy". I beg to differ. I look at all my past drawings, all are pretty hard. I like soft blending, true. But the edges are rather defined.
I found the most up-to-date zbrush file of my specialisation character.
I did more polypainting on it. Up to the body and arms. Some parts are not fully touched up, but yeah...just show :p
I was idling around my own site and decided I should do something. So I took some time to get archives working.
So it did.
Its a fucking bitch to touch on some old HTML when you haven't touch them a long time. I should add more comments in the codes next time rather than spending time figuring out which section is which.
Oh yeah I got some links up too.
Notice when you click on the "<< Link to Me" you go to an empty page.
Well you still do. :)
And a little stats corner. GoStats emailed me some days ago. So might as well.
Could really how how little people view my site yeah. AwStats show a good number, but I don't really trust AwStats.
AwStats showed 60k hits since last year 2007 November!
