Whisper of the Dreams (WotD) was first created in year 2000 as my
homepage to display my artworks and music compositions. The first version
was hosted by Nuttyvillage, a friend I got to know online. Back then he
provided only 1 MB space for hosting (can be expanded on request) but it was
more than enough for my small handful of works. The ad-free free hosting was
invaluable to me back then.
However the great hosting ended in about a year or so and thus ended WotD .
By then I had received a few feedbacks from my friends and some random
visitors regarding my work. Wasn't many of them, but meant alot to me and
encouraged me. It took a few months to find another good host. Near the end
of 2001, WotD was back up again with a new layout. This one wasn't as long
lived as the first, but was one of my favorite design I made.
The third design came in 2002. This website stood for more than a year but
with barely any updates. It was until 2003 when I found out the host have
put some pornographic ads as part of their hosting so I took it down.
My HD crashed in 2005 and the previous three versions of WotD was lost
permanently along with many of my precious artworks, music and web designs.
In Aug 2005, I bought my first domain and paid for my first hosting service.
Thus the forth version of WotD was born. Instead of once-in-a-blue-moon
update on art and music, I decided to pick up blogging which I do on a more
frequently basis. As I get busier, I have less updates on my galleries and
WotD have became mainly my blog. Since then I played with a couple of layout
changes. Traffic was huge back then, with as many as 10k hit per month from
friends and random visitors (and spammers).
WotD changed name to H-Edition
in 2007 with a sudden termination and change of host. It became my online
showcase for my traditional and digital artworks as I took up digital art
course. I gave up blogging and changed it into a art journal. Few of my
friends were kept updated on the new website. The number of visitors
dropped. But I know one day, it will pick up its traffic like WotD did since
her humble birth in 2000.
